Nominations for Derby & Derbyshire Inspirational Women Awards, 2015, are now open. The Awards were founded by Vox Feminarum:Women's Voices (VoxFemme for short) to recognise, celebrate and thank the 'ordinary' women of every age and from every walk of life, who are doing and achieving, extraordinary things. The headline act for the 2015 Derby Comedy Festival has been announced as stand-up comedian Jimmy Carr, who will perform his hit show, Funny Business, at the new Derby Arena on Friday 10 July, 2015.
Derby Theatre’s big production for spring 2015 will be Olivier Award-winning Mike Kenny’s adaptation of Carnegie award-winning Siobhan Dowd’s novel Solace of the Road, on from Fri 27 February until Sat 14 March.
Helen is Derbyshire’s current Poet Laureate and the fifth to be appointed the position. Helen is a multi-award winning poet who recently published her first full collection, “Division Street” which was shortlisted for the T S Eliot Prize and the Costa Prize.
