New exhibition coming up at the Barn... 'Follow The Thread'

Sheffield based group Arts Through Textiles will be exhibiting their work at the Barn from Monday 11th September.

The exhibition, entitled 'Follow the Thread', will be a dynamic exhibition featuring an eclectic mix of style, technique and approach with the emphasis on textiles.

New Play Celebrates Life of Bess of Hardwick

Derby LIVE is pleased to announce that Bess, a new play by Kevin Fegan, will be performed at Derby’s Guildhall Theatre from Thursday 28 September to Sunday 1 October. The play was commissioned by First Art and in association with Derby LIVE.

Telling the story of the life and times of Bess of Hardwick, surprisingly, this is the first drama to capture this extraordinary woman and her extraordinary times. Bess takes centre stage in this one-woman show mixing theatre with film.

HANNELLS DARLEY PARK CONCERT WELCOMED BACK TO DERBY

This year’s Hannells Darley Park Concert 2017, organised by Derby City Council’s entertainment arm, Derby LIVE, with orchestra Sinfonia Viva and media sponsor Classic FM, was a resounding success. The event was supported by Hannells Estates Agents, Flint Bishop Solicitors, HUUB, Mortgage Advice Bureau, PKF Cooper Parry, Specsavers and Stratstone BMW Derby.

First Festival Director appointed for Derby Book Festival

Local arts professional, Theresa Keogh, has been appointed as the first Festival Director of Derby Book Festival.  Now in its fourth year, Theresa will take the Festival to the next stage in its development. 

The Festival organisers have also announced the dates for the fourth Derby Book Festival.  Next year’s Festival will be held from Friday 1 June to Saturday 9 June 2018 in venues across the city and will again be organised in partnership with local organisations and businesses.
