A pair of quilts embroidered with the wartime history of Derbyshire is set to go on display.
Reigning male and female champions in the annual Jenson Button Trust Triathlon will be returning to Derby next month in the hope of raising the trophies again.
Emma Pallant (28) has won the event for the past two years since the JBTT moved to its present home at Markeaton Park and also won one of the events when it was staged at Luton Hoo.
Last year’s men’s champion was Ben Dijkstra (18) from Loughborough has been combining his training and events this summer with his A level exams and is also aiming to be the first across the line in this year’s finals.
Derby-based regional dance house Déda learnt today (Tuesday) that the organisation is to receive a 44% increase in funding from Arts Council England.
Déda in Chapel Street in Derby Cathedral Quarter will continue as an Arts Council England National Portfolio organisation and receive £1,373,496 between 2018 and 2022 which is an increase of £105,000 a year.
The additional money will support Déda’s work with city partners in developing Derby Festé – the annual international streets arts festival.
Five teams of three from Derby College are amongst the 20 teams who have signed up for the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon team challenge at Derby’s Markeaton Park on Sunday July 23.
The Derby College teams are all made up of first-time or novice triathletes who have come together with the aim of raising more than £1,000 for this year’s charity partner Barnardo’s.
The popular Buxton Art Trail is returning this July with organisers hoping for plenty of applications from artists and venues before the closing date of April 30th 2017.
The popular Buxton Art Trail will take place during the middle weekend of the Buxton Festival Fringe on Saturday July 15 and Sunday July 16 with painters, printmakers, illustrators, photographers and craftspeople, both professional and amateur, exhibiting in their homes and studios as well as in the homes and business premises of people who are generous enough to offer spaces.
Following a successful premiere at the Buxton Fringe Festival last year, and a popular current tour run, multi-award-winning actress and writer Lexi Wolfe is bringing her one-woman show, based on the life of Constance Lloyd, wife to Oscar Wilde, back to where the show had it’s debut.
Derby LIVE and Little Wolf Entertainment are pleased to announce the date of the annual auditions for our Pantomime Children's Ensemble. The open auditions will take place at Foot Fusion Dance Studio on Sunday 10 September.
Beauty and the Beast will be staged at Derby Arena from Tuesday 5 to Sunday 31 December 2018.

If you've been part of the audience at Chesterfield Jazz Club, you might have seen the wonderful Joel Purnell play his saxophone. It's an unusual saxophone in that Joel has innovated a stand for it instead of the usual neck strap - finding it more comfortable.
He's just as innovative when playing said saxophone too!
