We're building a new walking and cycling route in the town, which completes the link across Chesterfield from east to west. 

Protect yourself against scammers

We're urging older and vulnerable residents across Derbyshire to be on their guard against unsolicited phone calls claiming to be from a community alarm company.

Our Trading Standards officers have been made aware of several instances where the caller tries to get a resident to make a payment over the phone, telling them their existing alarm company has gone bust and they’ve taken over the contract.

Our contractors are just finishing this surface dressing work which works to extend the life of roads by spreading a layer of bitumen followed by a layer of chippings, with loose chippings swept away later.

DCG Teams Up With HSG To Save Water, Money And Improve The Washroom Experience

Derby College Group (DCG) has further improved its environmental credentials by teaming up with market-leading washroom water conservations specialists HSG who have installed their award-winning Ureco system at three key sites.

A total of 43 Ureco units and 13 Uretech water managers have been installed at DCG’s flagship technical and vocational skills college, The Roundhouse, in Pride Park as well as at the neighbouring Hudson Building and the Joseph Wright Centre in the city centre.

Broomfield Hall Open Gardens and Rare Plant Fair

Derby College Group’s Broomfield Hall will open its historic 25 acres of grounds and gardens to visitors on Sunday July 31 for a rare plant and craft fair between 11am and 3pm. Specialist stalls include cacti, succulents, carnivorous plants and arts and crafts with bonsai demonstrations.  The college's plant centre will be open as normal offering a wide range of seasonal plants and shrubs for sale. Meanwhile the volunteer-run pop-up

Elvaston Castle set to become a Winter Wonderland when it’s lit up for Christmas

ELVASTON castle is going to be sprinkled with fairy dust and transformed into an enchanting Winter Wonderland this Christmas where families will be able to visit Santa and his elves, enjoy an outdoor ice rink and take a magical walk through a state of the art lightshow.

 

For the first time ever, the popular country park is set to host its own festive family event in the run up to Christmas, which will see the house and its iconic grounds lit up with awe-inspiring illuminations providing a stunning multi-sensory experience.
