Venues and Community Spaces resource in the High Peak

Over the last two years, High Peak CVS have been engaging with our members and the local community to understand more about how we can support them and key ask was from groups and individuals that are looking for information and accessibility of community venues in the High Peak. Whether it’s a local church, community centre, business or many other venues, groups and volunteers are always looking for meeting spaces for their members.

Belper Community Play 2023 - It's happening in our town!

Hot news in case you haven't heard - the Belper Community Play received the full grant application from the Arts Council so there will be a play in Belper, Spring 2023.

The planning has begun so we are reaching out to everyone that we spoke to last year. So, individuals, community groups, activity groups, anyone that asked about it and that we came into contact with.

Derby College team up with HSG to further improve environmental credentials

Derby College Group (DCG) has further improved its environmental credentials by teaming up with market-leading washroom water conservations specialists HSG who have installed their award-winning Ureco system at three key sites.

A total of 43 Ureco units and 13 Uretech water managers have been installed at DCG’s flagship technical and vocational skills college, The Roundhouse, in Pride Park as well as at the neighbouring Hudson Building and the Joseph Wright Centre in the city centre.

Dig deeper into local history with The Harley Gallery’s new exhibition about the 5th Duke of Portland

New exhibition at The Harley Gallery, Nottinghamshire reveals the life of the elusive 5th Duke of Portland who owned the historic Welbeck estate during the Victorian era.

The 5th Duke was an unusual figure in high society, and many myths and legends have grown around his memory. These include always wearing 3 pairs of socks, only eating roast chicken, and communicating exclusively by letter through his bedroom door. The actual truth behind the stories is uncertain but it seems that the famously private 5th Duke was leading a fascinating life.

Community Fun at Ilkeston College

Derby College Group’s Community College in Ilkeston is hold three special open days in August as part of the town’s week-long Community Theatre and Festival.

The College in Pimlico will be open to the public On August 16, 17 and 18 between 10am and 4pm with a wide range of family-friendly activities.

These will include children’s activities, author presentations, floristry and circus skills workshops, British Sign Language taster sessions, music performances, local produce market, second hand book sale and charity fund raising activities.

Calling museums, galleries and historic houses!

The Great Escape is a new initiative from Art Fund, inviting museums, galleries and historic houses to host workshops for primary school children, and to contribute to a UK-wide work of art by a generation of young people. The work will be a demonstration of their vision for the biodiversity of our landscape, to be launched with activities for everyone on Earth Day 2023.
