OPUS was created as a constituted, non profit-making organisation in 2000, established a specialism within Music in Healthcare practice in 2010, and became a Community Interest Company in 2012.

Derby City Council launch Home to School transport consultation

 

Derby City Council launched a 12-week consultation today encouraging people to share their views on a proposal to change the way we currently provide discretionary home to school or college travel assistance for eligible sixth form learners by instead of arranging taxis and minibuses, or paying fuel reimbursements, the Council proposes to replace them with personal travel budget payments, together with new and enriched Independent Travel Training service to help and support more young people to become independent travellers.

Croots Farm Shop in Derbyshire named Shop of the Year

Popular Derbyshire farm shop Croots has won the title of Shop of the Year in the Great Food Club Awards 2022/2023.

The farm shop has previously been a finalist in the awards run by Great Food Club, which shines a light on and celebrates the East Midlands’ best food and drink independents.

Now Croots, based just outside Duffield on Wirksworth Road, has scooped the number one title.

Derbyshire History Makers celebrated in new exhibition exploring History - Herstory - Mystory - Theirstory - Ourstory

A new exhibition and project lab - History Makers: A celebration of Derbyshire women and gender diversity - opens this week at Derby Museum and Art Gallery and will run until February 2023.

Content for the exhibition has been years in the making, developed from feedback from visitors, volunteers and community members about the lack of representation for both women and gender diversity within the museums’ galleries.

Peak District pottery and food festival honours founder as rare craftsman

POTTERS from Derbyshire and across the country will gather in the Peak District for a two day celebration of pots and food and to honour festival founder and renowned ceramicist Geoff Fuller.

Geoff, who passed away earlier this year, and his wife Pat, started the Wardlow Mires Pottery and Food Festival back in 2012 and from humble beginnings the popular event now attracts more than 70 established and up-coming pottery makers and local food purveyors.

Leisure Hub Plans for West Park

Exciting plans for a Leisure Hub at West Park in Long Eaton will benefit residents and provide employment opportunities.

The project forms part of the Long Eaton Town Deal which will see up to £25 million of Government funding invested into the town, with a total of seven projects under consideration.
