To kick off our season in style we have the much loved and incredibly talented Shonaleigh Cumbers telling us the story of Solomon and Sheba in 'The Golden Labyrinth'.

Hooray for the Hotspots!

With Buxton Fringe's orange floral displays still going strong, Luke Bates and Alfie Tomkinson of the Pump Room’s Buxton Visitor Centre (pictured from l-r), were delighted to receive a letter of thanks from Fringe organisers and a Terry's Chocolate Orange provided by Morrisons. The Fringe Hotspots, conceived by former Fringe vice chair, the late Viv Marriott, were planted to brighten up the town and to promote July's Fringe festival.

The sun will be out, so make the most of the Bank Holiday right here in Derby. The Darley Park Weekender will be taking over the beautiful natural amphitheatre of Darley Park as it returns for it’s second year. After last year’s success the event has grown to Fri-Sun event, with music, fireworks and activities for the whole family.

 

Results Day Celebrations At DCG

A Level students at Derby College were joined today (Thursday August 18) for the first time by students who have completed their T Level qualifications which were launched two years ago as the ‘gold standard’ of vocational and technical education.

Nearly 360 A Level and the 25 students, who are the first to complete the initial three T Level study programmes, collected their results from the Joseph Wright Centre.

‘Three Choir Appeal’ Success as £1,160.00 raised for Air Ambulance Carlton, Sandiacre and Pye Hill & District Male Voice Choirs

Carlton, Sandiacre and Pye Hill & District Male Voice Choirs joined forces to raise
money for the vital services provided by the Derbyshire, Leicester, Rutland,
Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance in a concert held on Saturday 30 th
July 2022, at St. Paul’s Church, Daybrook, Nottingham. The money raised will also be
used to support the Children’s Air Ambulance nationally.
