The fund is a pilot initiative offering grants of up to £25,000 for experimenters, collaborators and learners from across all parts of heritage. ACE to offer transition funding for unsuccessful NPOs

National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) that are unsuccessful in securing funding from Arts Council England for the next three years will be eligible for short-term financial support while they find new forms of income or "wind down", it has been announced.

Derbyshire science company and charity urge folk to “walk this way” to mark 55-mile route’s 20th birthday

 

A Derbyshire charity has teamed up with a science company to hold an open walking weekend marking a picturesque hiking trail’s 20th birthday.

 

Science company Lubrizol, whose UK headquarters is based at Hazelwood near Belper, has joined forces with the Derwent Valley Trust to hold an open walking weekend on July 9 and 10 celebrating the beauty of the 55-mile “Heritage Way” which runs from Ladybower Reservoir down to Shardlow in South Derbyshire.

 

In ‘Spired’ Derbyshire school staff put their best feet forward for charity giving seaside breaks to community’s children

Teaching staff at a Derbyshire infant and nursery school stepped up to a challenge when they raised more than £1,000 for a much-loved children’s charity, by going on a long hike together.

Staff at Spire Nursery & Infant School on Derby Road in Chesterfield arranged to each do a ten mile walk either as a team or in their own time. Many staff walked around the whole of Carsington Water near Ashbourne in order to raise vital funds for the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre charity.

Art competition winners announced

A prestigious art competition run by our Buxton Museum and Art Gallery has announced this year's winners, following a two-year break because of Covid.

Cath Dunn was announced as the winner of the Derbyshire Trophy, recognised as the main competition prize, for her piece Dark and White Peak, above.
