To kick off our season in style we have the much loved and incredibly talented Shonaleigh Cumbers telling us the story of Solomon and Sheba in 'The Golden Labyrinth'.

Most people when they think of Solomon they think of the phrase Solomon the Wise; but you have to remember that history is often kind. People see the story of Solomon and Sheba as a great love story, but it was less and more than that. It was a battle of wits for trade routes across the ocean and it was also a battle of the sexes with unexpected outcomes.

Come and find out the undercurrents in this great story. Shonaleigh is a drut’syla, a storyteller in a Jewish tradition inherited from her late grandmother, Edith Marks (d.1988), by whom she was trained from childhood onwards. She carries a great wealth of stories with her that she delivers in a rich, captivating style.

Our house band Cage of Crows will be mesmerising us with sultry songs and there'll be more stories from our resident tellers. A whole evening packed with joy, wonder, awe, magic, mirth and merriment.

Shonaleigh is very popular and space is limited so we would encourage purchasing tickets on line in advance, though we would hope to have some tickets available for cash on the door.

We would also like to encourage our audience members to perform a lateral flow test before attending.
