Irish Women Celebrated Through Comedy and Dance

Looking at the stereotypes from leprechauns and nuns, to Michael Flatley’s mother, nothing is left unsaid as Moxie Brawl re-write the history of Ireland at Déda on Friday 26 April.

Feminism and comedy are at the heart of this perspective on Irish history.

Enjoy an empowering girl’s night whilst watching award-winning Moxie Brawl’s History of Ireland. Loud, thoughtful, and fun, the musical show comes to Déda this April.

Talk: John Flamsteed’s Atlas Coelestis

Have you seen our special talk celebrating John Flamsteed?
This Friday 8th March, 11am-12pm at Derby Museums find out about his trail blazing astronomical observations and drawings.

Flamsteed, (1646-1719), hailed from Derbyshire and was the first Astronomer Royal. In our collection we have an original copy of his Atlas Coelestis based on his observations of the stars.

Learn more about the man, his work and astronomical knowledge of the time with our Collections Manager, Spencer Bailey.
