Bakewell entices Cornish clothing brand

Seasalt has announced that it will be opening a brand new shop in Bakewell on 6th April 2019 following work with Marketing Derby as part of its invest in Derbyshire service.

Renowned for their contemporary clothing and accessories in natural fabrics, the Seasalt team designs the range from their studios overlooking the sea in Falmouth, Cornwall. With artistic and practical designs, Seasalt was drawn to the character of the town, along with its beautiful, historical landmarks.

Children in first British performance of African hit

Buxton voices in curtain-raiser for Festival preview

Students from local schools will give the first British performance of songs from Buxton International Festival’s 2019 production The Orphans of Koombu.

The pupils from Buxton Community School and St Thomas More School will present excerpts on April 4 from the show, which with its theme of reconciliation and redemption was a big hit across Africa where it was first performed as the Apartheid era came to an end.

New Mills Festival Launches Call For Visual Arts 2019

New Mills Festival is delighted to announce the return of the festival Art Trail and Big Weekend for 2019. The Trail forms part of New Mills Festival which takes place across the town from the 13th to the 29th September 2019. Submissions are now open to artists wishing to take part in the two-week long trail and weekend finale and will close at midnight 5th May 2019.

intu Derby launches ‘quiet hour’ to soothe shoppers

intu Derby has introduced a regular quiet hour for shoppers living with conditions such as autism and anxiety, the centre has announced.

The scheme, which will be rolled out from Monday 1 April, will see over 100 stores turn off music, reduce tannoy announcements, and dim lighting where possible, to help create a calmer and more peaceful environment in centre.
