Latest dance production from Scottish Dance Theatre brings energy and style of late 1970s and early 1980s New York to Derby this spring.

Serviced office space available in former chapel in Derby city centre

Déda is pleased to offer an impressive serviced office space, available to rent in its beautiful building on Derby’s Chapel Street (DE1) from April 2019.

The rent is inclusive of heating and electricity, use of a full-time reception desk, water rates, refuse collection, external window cleaning, cleaning of communal areas, internal and external maintenance, CCTV system plus a security alarm which is monitored by the police.

Be part of Red Saunders' Hidden Project

A founder member of the Rock Against Racism movement in the 1970s, Red Saunders is a professional photographer who combines his photographic practice with cultural, artistic, musical, and political activism.

Choosing Derby as the location for his latest Hidden Project, Red will be casting hundreds of people from across the region to be characters in three giant photographic tableaux, featuring historic scenes of innovation and disruption from Derbyshire’s past.

'Rouse Ye Women!' by Townsend Productions

There is a special performance of the nationwide tour of 'Rouse Ye Women', a new folk ballad about Mary Macarthur and the women chainmakers in early 20th century Britain.
 

Growing international relationships one cherry tree at a time

Schools across the county are being urged by Derbyshire County Council to apply to receive a free Sakura Cherry Tree to celebrate the friendship between Japan and the UK.

Cherry Trees for Schools is coordinated by The Japan Society as part of a large nationwide project which aims to donate and plant more than 4,000 Cherry Trees in parks and public spaces in 2020 to mark the Japan-UK Season of Culture between 2019 and 2020.

A casting call, inviting local people to be part of a new artwork by international artist Red Saunders, has been issued this week from Derby Museums for the new Museum of Making.
