With the closing date for entering the Jenson Button Trust Triathlon fast approaching - seven teams made up of Derby College students, staff and representatives from businesses involved in the College’s Employer Academy programme have signed up for the Smith Cooper Team Challenge at the triathlon which will be held in Derby’s Markeaton Park on Sunday July 17.

Representatives from businesses in Derby’s St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) focused their efforts on St Peter’s Cross and the Green Lane area for the latest Tidy Up event.
Staff from Barclays, Babington Arms, John M Lewis and Greggs were joined by Healthy High Street champions Boots and M&S and were supported by Derby City Council’s Streetpride team and the St Peters Quarter Rangers for the early morning tidy up of the area – which lies between the Cathedral Quarter and Intu Derby shopping centre.

Creative Arts students at Derby College’s Joseph Wright Campus will exhibit the work they have completed over the past year in a public end of year exhibition.
The students will be joined by family and friends for a private view on Tuesday June 14 when there will also be performances by Music and Performing Arts students. The Art & Design, Games Design and Media students’ work will then be available to view by the public from Wednesday to Friday (June 15 to 17) between 10am and 4pm and on Saturday June 18 between 10am to 1pm.
The registered charity, Concertina which makes grants of up to £250 to charitable bodies which provide musical entertainment and related activities for the elderly has announced that the next deadline for applications is the 31st October 2016. The charity is particular keen to support smaller organisations which might otherwise find it difficult to gain funding.
