This week Derby Museums have launched our call out for makers for ‘Assemble: Derby’s Making Festival’ returning to the Museum of Making on Saturday 22nd October.  

Produced by Derby Museums, Assemble is a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, which aims to celebrate making in all its shapes and forms. Bringing together artists and makers from varied disciplines to share their passion and skills with the public and to encourage others to have a go at making themselves.

Derbyshire company student praises the power of volunteering after signing up to global app helping the blind

A chemicals company student from Derbyshire has paid tribute to the power of volunteering after giving up her time to help blind or partially sighted people complete everyday tasks.

Laura Barrie, 20, a placement student at Lubrizol – based in Hazelwood near Belper – is one of millions of people worldwide who have signed up to ‘Be My Eyes’.

We are seeking to appoint a Diverse Artist Network Co-ordinator to kickstart a new project focused on equity, diversity and inclusion.

Melbourne Festival Art and Architecture Trail is calling for Artists this 17th and 18th of September 2022.

The closing date is 10 April 2o22.

Irish Alternative Rock band MOVMENT has signed with Epictronic a deal for their album "Transformation", which is due for release on May the 20th, 2022.

Movment Signing Statement: "We are pleased to announce that MOVMENT have signed a record deal for the album Transformation with the Italian label Epictronic. We are delighted to work with the excellent label Epictronic who will release Transformation worldwide. It will give many more people the occasion to listen to the album Transformation, which we are very proud to have written and recorded."

The FORMAT team would like to thank everyone who took part in this year's international portfolio review for making it fun, informative and a great forum to see new and exciting photography.

Over two days the FORMAT online reviews were attended by participants from over 40 countries and our 54 industry reviewers collectively conducted 600+ reviews with 119 artists.
