Returning soon to Dronfield Hall Barn: Kid's craft activities

We're pleased to announce that our popular kid's craft activities will be returning to the Barn this summer, beginning Thursday 5th August! 

Get creative and beat the summer holiday boredom with the help of our volunteers, who will be running the activities every Thursday from 10am-3pm. You can get involved for just £2.50 per child, but please note that children must be accompanied by an adult. Turn up on the day, with no pre-booking required.

Buxton International Festival is about to begin!

It’s been a long wait but we’re delighted to open our venue doors tomorrow and welcome everyone to Buxton for seventeen days of opera, music and books! 

This year, the opera companies have filmed special videos to share insights into their productions, with personal contributions from creatives. Some of the talks also feature cast members and rehearsal footage. 

Ilkeston’s Community College Hosts Learning Open Day

Derby College Group (DCG) is holding a family open day at The Community College in Pimlico, Ilkeston, on Saturday July 31 between 11am and 5pm with a range of taster learning sessions for adults and fun activities for children.

The Community College is now home to an expanded range of adult learning courses ranging from IT and Spanish to British Sign Language and Wellbeing as well as GCSE English, Maths and Biology and an extensive distance learning programme.  Many of the courses are free of charge and all lead to nationally recognised qualifications.

Apprenticeship Vacancies Soar Amongst Local Employers

Derby College Group (DCG) have a bumper crop of apprenticeship vacancies to fill on behalf of local and regional employers – highlighting the growing levels of business confidence, according to Vice Principal of Apprenticeships and Employer Relations Matthew Smith.

There are currently around 200 apprenticeship vacancies currently available to local young people and adults across a wide range of sectors including Construction, Engineering, Business, Hospitality and Childcare with imminent start dates.

Monkey vs Owl Expands Offer With Key Appointment

Fast-growing lettings company Monkey vs Owl has appointed Hollie Clayton as residential lettings manager to drive forward its service expansion.

The company, which has offices in Derby and Loughborough, launched in 2017 and has since specialised in the lettings and management of HMO properties (houses in multiple occupation) – particularly for students and young professionals.
