Junction Arts are inviting applications for their next Chair of the Board of Trustees. Based in Chesterfield, Junction Arts has been engaging communities across Bolsover District, North East Derbyshire and rural areas of the East Midlands for over 40 years.
1623's artistic director Ben Spiller, and associate artist Oliver Alvin Wilson, spent a week in London with a team of artists working on Shakespeare-to-BSL translations of scenes from MACBETH with The DH Ensemble (Deaf & Hearing Ensemble).
The week was an important step along the way to the making of FAIR IS FOUL a bilingual adaptation of MACBETH, next year.

Workshops with LGBT+ groups, performances at scratch nights and audience feedback have played a key role in shaping this show, which combines the autobiography of gender-fluid artist Shane Gabriel (who performs the show) and the story of Lady Macbeth.
The funding aims to support smaller, locally based organisations in Great Britain with projects to improve resilience within communities of interest, such as people who are living with disabilities or chronic illness, in poverty, homeless, elderly and isolated, or have another demonstrable significant need.
The Fund aims to support community wellbeing as well as protect and sustain water and natural resources within the Severn Trent area. The programme will distribute grants of £2,000 - £250,000 for local initiatives. Applications will be open from early January 2020 via the Severn Trent website.

The deadline for the current seventh round of Derbyshire County Council's Action Grants is 31 January 2020. There will only be one more round of the scheme after that, which has a deadline of 31 May 2020.
