The Chamber is working with partners to offer support to local businesses which have been - and continue to be - affected by recent flooding.

A month’s-worth of rain fell in just one day in some areas, resulting in significant flooding for parts of Derbyshire.

Matthew Hutchings has celebrated his first anniversary as Managing Director of The Derby Conference Centre - one of the leading events and conference venues in the East Midlands. His first year in charge has marked some big changes at the Conference Centre, with Hutchings’ leadership taking the venue from strength to strength. 

We’ve taken promoting the delights of the Peak District and Derbyshire to a new level this Christmas – by decorating a tree with specially-donated baubles from the area’s amazing attractions, accommodation providers and producers!

Kinder Choirs of the High Peak will be performing a selection of the most loved and well-known choral classics when they sing at Buxton Opera House on Sunday 12^th January.

Musical Director Joyce Ellis has put together a programme which is a real ‘top of the pops’ of choral favourites including ‘Zadok the Priest’, the Hallelujah Chorus, Panis Angelicus and many more.

No, not at our home on Christmas Day, that would be weird. We don't even live together, we are not Bert and Ernie. We'd love to see you at one of our Christmas shows though - whether that's a night of interactive entertainment and beautiful food in a unique take on ‘A Christmas Carol’, another classic Dickens tale in Oliver with a Twist or a visit to the beautiful Sudbury Hall for a breakfast promenade performance of House Trap, a comedy adventure for all the family.

Kinder Choirs of the High Peak

With the shops already piled high with Christmas gifts, not to mention mountains of seasonal food, it’s easy to feel less than enthusiastic about the festive season ahead. But there’s one sure-fire way to get into the true Christmas spirit and that’s by attending one of the heavenly, candlelit concerts presented by Kinder Choirs of the High Peak.

On Saturday 9^th November a very special concert took place at St. Wilfrid’s Church, Kirkby in Ashfield, by the Pye Hill & District Male Voice Choir and special guests which raised the staggering amount of £1,016.00 for the Alzheimer’s Society ‘Dementia Choir’, to support its work within the local community and beyond.
