On Saturday 23 October, the Museum of Making opens its doors to celebrate makers and all things making with Assemble, Derby’s Making Festival. 

The 2021 Supreme Champion and 16 Golden Forks were announced last night at Fine Food Show North.

Guests at Sunday evening's awards ceremony enjoyed canapés incorporating several of this year's Great Taste award-winning products, live jazz and the chance to taste many of the nominees and eventual winners of this year's Golden Forks.

Junction Arts have been working in partnership with Hardwick Hall, artists and the community throughout the year to create a unique artwork inspired by Hardwick's history and collections.

Join This Girl Codes on Tuesday 19th October at Hardwick Hall. 4:30-6pm.

Join Buxton International Festival this weekend for an autumnal mini festival full of music and words, on Friday 15th October.

Buxton International Festival welcomes gothic novelist Rhiannon (Sarah) Ward, tech entrepreneur Azeem Azhar, politician Peter Hain, and Harewood Artists from English National Opera to Buxton.

Saturday's varied programme features acclaimed pianist Martin Roscoe, BIF’s Chamber Ensemble: the Corran Quartet, broadcaster Paul Mason, memoirist Meriel Schindler and jazz sensations The XPQ (Xenopoulos, Price) Quartet.

Junction Arts in partnership with Animate Projects present four short documentary films on the subject of 'work'.

All four films were made by artists in collaboration with communities and organisations across the Midlands.

This managing risk training session with Dementia Adventure will inspire you to incorporate calculated risk when planning for future outdoor experiences while understanding the benefits that can be achieved.

The training will lead you through the ‘Six Steps to Success’ approach, which you can adapt for your environment. This training supports your reasoning, planning, implementing and sustaining of activities and adventures for people living with dementia.

This year we are operating a booking system to ensure social distancing and a safe number of people at workshops. There is a morning and afternoon session, we recommend that people book no more than two sessions to allow others opportunity.

Hubbub are celebrating their actors, participants and community being back together by hosting an Autumn Gathering, and they would love for you to join us! 

The event is taking place at Deda, Chapel Street, Derby, DE1 3GU on Friday 22nd October between 1.30pm and 7pm.

The weekend of 16th & 17th October sees the welcome return of the Autumn Community Art Sharing presented by Art Share Crich at The Glebe Field Centre. 

Alongside this there will be for the second year running an Exhibition and Art sale by artists in the ArtStand collective. 

The two groups were so pleased with the success of their joint event last October, that they have decided to do it all over  again  this year but this time even bigger!
