Highlighting the digital & creative community in Derby & Derbyshire at the 5th Mainframe Awards

Mainframe are extremely excited to announce that submissions are now open for the Mainframe Awards 2022.

With ten, open categories to choose from there really is a category for everyone from every sector of the creative industries. Entering is simple; just 500 words and anything you'd like to add to boost your submission.

This is our chance to shine a light on you and your amazing businesses and the team at Mainframe can't wait.

 

Chesterfield’s fireworks extravaganza returns

Chesterfield Borough Council’s fireworks extravaganza returns later this week, and everyone is welcome to come along.

The council have partnered with Chesterfield Football Club to deliver the entertainment at this year’s event.

The fireworks event takes place at Stand Road Park on Friday 5 November, the gates will open at 4.30pm and close at 9pm.

Presenters James Summers and Elliot Holman from Chesterfield’s 1866 Sport Radio will be hosting the stage show and getting everyone ready for the fireworks display.

Derby Theatre hosts their second Culture Cares Conference

Following the successful launch of Culture Cares in 2018, the conference returns for 2021, both in-person at Derby Theatre and live-streamed online on Tuesday 16th November.

In the context of the current Care Review (England), this is the second conference of its kind, bringing the cultural and care sectors together for insightful and lively conversations, presentations and workshops.

New Performance Brings Diwali Story To Life

Surtal Arts, the long-established Derby organisation rooted in traditional South Asian arts, will premiere a new production next month (November) as part of the new Derby Season of Light festival.

Stories of Diwali: the Diwali experience will premiere at the city’s Museum of Making on Friday 5th November at 6pm as part of the Museum of Making’s new First Fridays late series.

Derbyshire Open Arts: Applications are Open!

Applications for the Derbyshire Open Arts 2022 event are now open. This will be a return to the physical format of former years. Applications are open until January 12th and the team at DOA are look forward to a successful event, with so many of our former members expressing an interest as well as a number of newcomers. 

Everything you can see at Chesterfield’s 1940s Market

Chesterfield’s 1940s Market returns during half term with lots of entertainers for the whole family to enjoy.

Taking place on Thursday 28 October between 10am and 4pm, visitors can enjoy 40s music, entertainment, exhibits and meet the stall holders in period dress.

Fun for the whole family at Chesterfield Christmas Lights Switch On

Residents and visitors can get into the festive spirit as Chesterfield’s annual Christmas Lights Switch On returns for 2021.

There will be a variety of entertainers performing throughout the day and a market that will allow shoppers to grab a Christmas bargain. The event takes place on Sunday 21 November from 12 noon to early evening, with the switch on happening at 4.45pm.
