An innovative Derby-based video teaching and learning service for children and young people of all ages and abilities has released more than 500 child safety videos which are available to watch online free of charge as part of national Child Safety Week (June 7 to 13).
Family-owned Wathall’s, which is Derby’s longest established independent funeral directors, has created a beautifully illustrated activity book to support children and young people who have lost a loved one.
Wathall’s Bereavement Support Coordinator and qualified counsellor Fay Bloor has worked with University of Derby graduate and freelance illustrator Michael Ashley to create the book entitled ‘Missing Someone Special – working your way through loss’.
Derby-based Sinfonia Viva, the orchestra of the East Midlands, has brought together a creative team to work with health experts from Birmingham City University and the University of Nottingham to produce The Dragon in My Skin - a new book, animated film and songs to help children with eczema cope with the condition.
We've been so excited to get back into QUAD and see the doors open to the public. Over the next couple of month we'll be working to see how our events can start to return to the building and being in-person.

Jeremy has been fortunate enough to have his studio at home here in Derbyshire, so woking has been made easier and he is able to carry on during these very difficult days. We are pleased to confirm that our in person courses will re-start with a full programme at our studio in September 2021. In fact its so full that we are still working on it but we are nearly there and there's lots online to choose from already! But do not fear as we know many of you love our virtual courses these will continue too so there is something for everyone.

The Mental Health Foundation note that getting involved in arts, social activities and interaction within our communities alleviates anxiety, depression and stress, and together we can be at the fore front to champion this!
