Keep the bank holiday weekend free! 

To visit our fabulous artists around the county of course! There are over 200 artists exhibiting at 72 venues right across Derbyshire. We're sure you will find something you love and someone interesting to chat to. 

The event is on from Saturday 27th to Monday 29th May, 10.00am to 5.00pm each day. Many venues are also holding preview evenings on the Friday night. Look on our website or in the brochure for details of each one.

Producers, artisans and craftspeople based in Derbyshire are invited to showcase, promote and sell their products to thousands of visitors at Chatsworth Country Fair this summer.

Visit Peak District & Derbyshire, in partnership with Derbyshire County Council, is inviting local producers to apply for a place in the ‘Derbyshire Makers’ Marketplace’ at one of England’s most spectacular annual outdoor celebrations.

Leabrooks butcher, Owen Taylor & Sons, has scooped national awards for its Steak & Ale and Pork Pies.

 

Both pies won their respective categories (Best Steak Pie and Best Pork Pie) at this year’s Smithfield Awards, organised by the Q Guild of Butchers and widely recognised as the meat trade’s most high profile and challenging product evaluation.

Producers' Market at County Hall

Are you a local food producer, farmer or artisan? Or do you like to buy locally made produce? We’re holding our first Producers’ Market at County Hall in Matlock on Wednesday 24 May to support Derbyshire’s farmers, producers and artisans across the county.

Derby Children’s Picture Book Award 2023 winner announced

The winner of Derby Book Festival’s fifth Derby Children’s Picture Book Award is announced today (30 March).  The winning book, from a shortlist of three, is Human Town by Alan Durant and Anna Doherty (Tiny Owl Publishing).  The children, in Years 2&3 at 51 Derby schools, voted for their favourite book on Voting Day, 28 March having read the three shortlisted books in their classes.  The book has a strong message about pollution and its impact on the natural world.
