Buxton International Festival is delighted to announce the final line-up for The Big BIF Weekend 15th-16th October 2021.

This year’s books programme features politician Peter Hain, crime writer Sarah Ward, author Azeem Azhar, lawyer Meriel Schindler and journalist Paul Mason. The music programme includes the return of popular pianist Martin Roscoe, BIF’s Chamber Ensemble: the Corran Quartet, the Harewood Artists from English National Opera and jazz sensations XPQ (Xenopoulos, Price Quintet).

Our Buxton Museum and Art Gallery has a new workshop programme for adults.

This autumn, treat yourself and learn a new craft. The museum is running a choice of adult workshops (for over 14s) at the museum and nearby studios, with experienced artists and only a few participants. These all-day events, 10am-4pm, will suit beginners and experienced people.

For Spiral Arts' first event, the team are delighted to be hosting the wonderful 'Caim', a trio of fantastically talented singers and musicians.

TOUCH STONE is a beautifully shot, short film commissioned by Tom Dwyer for this year's Wirksworth Festival.

More than £7,000 has been raised in memory of popular farm shop owner Steve Croot, who ran Croots Farm Shop near Duffield in Derbyshire with his wife Kay.

Steve died suddenly on 15th August, and his family launched a crowdfunding appeal to raise money to buy two defibrillators.

The appeal very quickly exceeded its target – allowing for a generous donation to also be made to Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre, which Steve had supported for many years, and the local St Alkmund’s Church in Duffield.

Family-owned Wathall’s have congratulated Clifton Cricket Club on a successful first season under the company’s three-year sponsorship package.

As part of the sponsorship the Wathall’s logo is displayed on all senior team’s kit and sponsor boards at Chapel Lane, Clifton.

Clifton CC near Ashbourne play in the Derbyshire County Cricket League and the three senior teams have played in Division 1, 6S & 9SW for the 2021 season.

There is just one week left to take part in Level Centre's Ryan Heath World-Building Summer Project.

After the organisations super workshop with #LEVELResidency Lab Artist Ryan earlier this year, the team at Level asked him to create a summer project with the same theme so everyone can have a go and get involved with World-Building.
