Join us at The Darley Park Weekender

The sun will be out, so make the most of the Bank Holiday right here in Derby. The Darley Park Weekender will be taking over the beautiful natural amphitheatre of Darley Park as it returns for it’s second year. After last year’s success the event has grown to Fri-Sun event, with music, fireworks and activities for the whole family.

 

Annual Festival Shines A Light On Diversity, Independence and Unity

The Derby Season of Light (DSOL) family festival will return this Autumn with a packed programme of activities and performances to celebrate the city and county’s diversity and creativity.

The programme between September and December will coincide with the festivals of Diwali, Bonfire Night, Hanukkah, and Christmas and the preparations for Chinese New Year which all share the common theme of light. This year, the festival will also mark the 75th anniversary of India’s independence.

Afternoon Tea Concert with Meliora Collective

Meliora Collective Afternoon Tea Concert 

Part of the New Mills Festival Meliora Collective is a freshly established flexible ensemble, comprising of an array of dynamic, creative and spirited young artists. They are in the unique position of performing as a dectet, formed of five wind players alongside five string players, whilst also presenting concerts with more intimate chamber groupings.

The Harley Open 2022 is now on show, with 125 pieces by artists within 100 miles of The Harley Gallery on display.

The 2022 Harley Open Exhibition is now on show, with 125 works being exhibited by artists in the
region.
The open art competition received over 750 entries, with two rounds of judging needed to whittle the
artworks down to the final 125 which are on show until 23 October.
The grand prize of £2000, sponsored by The Harley Foundation, was jointly awarded to Verity Pulford
for her glass piece Untitled and Millie Welburn-Cowell for her painting Juna.
