New Perspectives return with a romcom with songs.

Finding one true soulmate is fortunate. Finding two, life becomes complicated! New Perspectives Theatre Company makes a very welcome return to Tideswell this month (18th March) with this romcom which mixes drama and comedy with songs.

Husband and wife, Simon and Carey: the perfect couple. They have some news to share and the swearing has to stop. They are having a baby!

Then Carey makes a new musician friend and we discover life-changing secrets of their past.

Expressions of Interest Now Open for Stallholders at Derby Book Fair

We are busy planning the 2023 Summer Book Festival and are planning to hold a book and book-related craft fair at the Museum of Making in Derby on Saturday 13 May. It will run from 10:30am-4pm (with time to set up and clear away to be scheduled).

We are currently open to expressions of interest from potential stallholders who may be interested in joining us. It will be an opportunity for you to showcase your book-related crafts or books - whether as an author or on behalf of an author or as an independent publisher or bookseller.

Chesterfield in Lockdown – A community exhibition

Chesterfield Museum has curated an exhibition to commemorate the experiences of the community during the Covid-19 Lockdown ahead of the third UK National Day of Reflection.

The community led exhibition includes a selection of art, textile, poetry, prose, music, film, and photography, as well as the Chesterfield Big Lockdown Textile, which is made up of 100 textile squares created by residents.

We're very excited about this year's event. For 2023 there are more than 200 participants right across the county - from Melbourne in the south to Glossop in the north; Bolsover in the east to New Mills in the west. 
We've spent the last 3 weeks getting the website ready to be seen, sorting out all the artists' pages and making sure it's as informative as possible and looks great!

From Here To Absurdity at Spring Bank Arts

As part of its current “post-pandemic, pre-apocalypse” tour, the quick-fire satirical sketch show, From Here to Absurdity, is heading to New Mills in early spring and will perform at the Spring Bank Arts Centre on Sunday 26 March. 

Feb deadline looms for Fringe entrants!

Fringe performers and exhibitors are being urged to enter this summer’s Buxton’s Fringe as soon as possible in order to take advantage of the specially discounted £55 entry fee available until February 28th.
