Pride and Prejudice in Buxton

Audiences are welcomed to once again take a step back in time with Chapterhouse Theatre Company, when they perform their production of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice at the Pavilion Arts Centre.

NAME A SEAT at Derby Theatre

Derby Theatre is delighted to launch Name a Seat, a campaign which provides audience members with the opportunity to support their local theatre through naming a seat after themselves or someone  special in their life.  
Do you have an anniversary coming up, or a landmark birthday? Or would you like to remember someone special? Name a Seat at Derby Theatre is a wonderful way to celebrate a special occasion, or remember someone who has enjoyed the experience of live performance, whilst supporting the work of Derby Theatre. 
 

Free night club night for adults with learning difficulties

Due to the success of our first club night we have decide to organise another one and aim to run them quarterly.

 Our next club night is on

21st of August 2017

7pm-10pm

Club HQ 3-5 High Street East, Glossop.

Free all welcome

The clubnight is organised by 'Life you choose' an arts and multimedia group for adults with learning difficulties. Members of life you choose have put the music together and learnt how to used DJ software and equipment, so will be DJs on the night.

A new home for Buxton Fringe’s largest venue

The Buxton Fringe’s longest running venue has received a new lease of life, in the form of a new base above The Clubhouse pub in the centre of town.

After 10 years and 1,500 performances hosted under the historic Old Hall Hotel, Underground Venues were forced to move this year to make way for the multi-million pound Crescent Spa redevelopment project. Luckily their prayers, and those of 70 companies from across the globe, have been answered by the offer of a new home just over the road.

Memorial Garden Unveiled At Local Care Home

Family-owned funeral directors G Wathall & Son and Shelton Lock Care Home have celebrated National Care Home Day with the official unveiling of a memorial garden.

Wathall’s, which was recognised in the Derby Telegraph Business Awards for their contribution to the community, donated a selection of plants for the garden.

PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF HISTORIC AREA GOES ON SHOW

An exhibition depicting the past, present and future of an historic part of Derby’s St Peters Quarter will be held at St Peter’s Church on Friday June 23 from 6pm – followed by a tour of premises across the area.

The free exhibition has been organised by Derby City Council under the Townscape Heritage Initiative which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
