Young Solicitor Progresses Her Career with Timms Solicitors

A newly-qualified solicitor, who has trained with Timms Solicitors, has been rewarded with a permanent position in the firm’s Family Law team.

University of Derby graduate Leonnie Watson joined Timms in an administrative role to support the Family Law team in 2018 and went onto complete the Legal Practice course at Nottingham Trent University whilst working at Timms.

Littleover Community School gets a ‘good’ report from inspectors

A DERBY school has been described as having an ‘inclusive and academic culture’ after its first Government inspection in 16 years rated it as ‘good’ with an ‘outstanding’ Sixth Form.

Littleover Community School is among several Derby schools to be inspected by Ofsted under its new framework and its report highlighted the 'high expectations and ambitions' of school leaders.

The school, in Pastures Hill, was visited by a team of five inspectors last month who found that all students, including those with special educational needs, achieve well.

Buxton photographer creates new-look Fringe programme cover!

A Buxton photographer has helped the Fringe create a very different programme cover for 2023.

Caroline Claye, a retired customer care officer who is a member of High Peak Photography Club (formerly Chapel Camera Club), came up with the distinctive image following a collaboration between Buxton Fringe and the club in July.

Celebrating National Tree Week in Staveley

Sixteen new trees have been planted to celebrate National Tree Week and create an avenue feature in King George V Playing Field in Staveley.

Sweet Gum (Liquidambar styraciflua Worplesden) trees were planted by children from Staveley Junior School and representatives from the community including Councillors, Friends of King George V Playing Fields, Staveley King George Bowlers and Tree Wardens.

The shortlist for the 2023 Peak District & Derbyshire Tourism Awards has been revealed, showcasing excellence and outstanding achievement across the area’s tourism and hospitality sector.

Finalists have been announced in 15 categories celebrating the best of the visitor economy in the Peak District and Derbyshire, from attractions and accommodation providers to unique experiences and great places to eat and drink.
