Join us for a special one-off event on Friday 14 July
We are delighted that best-selling international novelist and co-founder of the Women’s Prize, Kate Mosse will be returning to Derby for a special one-off event on Friday 14 July from 7 – 8pm at QUAD.

Kate is best known for her multi-million selling Languedoc Trilogy - Labyrinth, Sepulchre and Citadel - and for her Gothic Fiction, including The Winter Ghosts and The Taxidermist’s Daughter as well as for running the Women’s Prize for nearly 30 years.

She will join us to discuss her latest book, The Ghost Ship, which is the third novel in The Joubert Family Chronicles, bringing piracy, romance and revenge across the seas of the seventeenth century.

A sweeping and epic love story taking us from France in 1610 to Amsterdam and the Canary Islands in the 1620s, The Ghost Ship is a thrilling novel of adventure and buccaneering, love and revenge, stolen fortunes and hidden secrets on the High Seas. Most of all, it is a tale of defiant women in a man's world.

Tickets cost £12 each and can be booked online or at the box office at QUAD.

Dormouse Books
Many thanks to Stephanie Limb, owner of local independent bookshop, Dormouse Books in Belper, who will be in conversation with Kate Mosse.  We hope this will be the start of a successful partnership with Dormouse.  If you haven’t visited their lovely shop yet, do pay them a visit – it’s worth a trip to Belper just for that (although it has lots of excellent indies to tempt you too).

Desert Island Discs with Kate Mosse

If you haven’t had chance to listen yet, Kate was Lauren Laverne’s latest castaway this week and her episode is well worth a listen. Moving, heartfelt and fascinating to hear, we just can’t wait to meet her in the flesh! Listen along here.

We hope to see you in July!
