Enjoy the summer garden and rare plants at Broomfield College

On Sunday 30th July, the beautiful Derby College Group's Broomfield Hall will be open for visitors to enjoy the delightful gardens.

On Sunday 30th July, there will be a Rare Plant Fair in the ground, which will be showcasing a wide variety of extraordinary plants including tropical plants, alpines, cacti, and many more to buy. Along with this there will be variety of craft stalls and refreshments.

As well as walking through the lovely gardens, visitors can also wander the 25 acres of constantly developing educational Victorian gardens and woodlands maintained by volunteers and students.

Gardening experts will be on hand to offer advice. Most areas on site are accessible to wheelchair users.

In recent years, the appointment of a new head gardener Samantha Harvey and a large team of volunteers has led to the gardens being developed further including contemporary herbaceous planting, a subtropical area and modern rose garden.

Samantha Harvey, said “The garden is bursting with life and is full of amazing colours and wonderful fragrances. All the team have been working hard to ensure the gardens are looking their best and we’re really excited to welcome people to come and enjoy the beautiful displays.

"And for the Rare Plant Fair, there is a wide variety of plants for people to buy."

This family-friendly event is taking place on Sunday 30th July at Derby College’s Broomfield Hall Campus near Morley from 10am until 4pm. Tickets, which can be bought on the day, are just £5 each, with children admitted free!
