FORMAT International Photography Festival returns to Derby from 17 March to 9 April 2023 for the very best photography and lens-based media being produced today.

Necklace of Stars Exhibition

Between 2020-2022 arthur+martha, a Community Interest Company specialising in arts and health, worked with housebound, isolated older people in Derbyshire to make “a necklace of stars” – an embroidered quilt with a poem border and a poetry/song soundtrack inspired by lullabies.

Partner Announcement at Timms Solicitors

Leading family lawyer and Resolution-trained family mediator, Adrian Rose, has become a partner with Timms Solicitors which has offices in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter, Burton-upon-Trent, Swadlincote and Ashby.

Adrian joins the leadership team of Fiona Moffat, Dee Khunkhuna and Jo Robinson having made such a positive impact on the work of the Family Law team with the development of mediation services for clients.

Reserve your tickets for the Chesterfield Area Walking Festival 2023

The popular Chesterfield Area Walking Festival is returning for another year, with residents and visitors being encouraged to get outdoors and enjoy what the area has to offer.

The annual festival takes place from Saturday 13 to Sunday 21 May 2023 and it includes gentle strolls, family walks and big days out for seasoned hikers. Tickets for the festival will be available to book from Monday 13 February.

Feb deadline looms for Fringe entrants!

Fringe performers and exhibitors are being urged to enter this summer’s Buxton’s Fringe as soon as possible in order to take advantage of the specially discounted £55 entry fee available until February 28th.

Live & Local – Community Engagement Officer (Warks, Worcs & Leics)

£25,874 pro rata 0.5 - 0.7 FTE (Negotiable) – Annualised Hours (between 810 hrs and 1,274 hrs)

It is an exciting time to work for Live & Local as the company continues to be retained in Arts Council England’s National Portfolio (2023-26), delivering both existing and new and innovative strands of work whilst continuing to serve a range of partners, communities and stakeholders.

The Community Engagement Officer is one of a team of three similar roles and sits within our Engagement Department.

Taking action to support mental health

Students at the Derby College Group have been busy raising awareness of mental health issues - while at the same time raising money to support a number of mental health charities.

Over the past few months students across the College have been involved in a number of social action projects that have raised over £800 for charities such as Mind and Man-Up.
