Journeys of Destiny
Journeys of Destiny is a theatre performance that enables young people (one class of 30 pupils) to perform alongside professional actors to either the whole school or to a community audience. The piece uses songs, creative writing skills, performance and the true story of a young Syrian refugee Saad AlKassab and his escape from war torn Hommes to studying to become a doctor at Melbourne University. The project involves a pre-workshop, all day rehearsal with directors and actors and encourages year 6 and year 7 young people to consider attainment, transition and emotional resilience. We will be touring this production during National Refugee Week 17-22 June and 24-30 June celebrating 70 years of Human Rights Bill.
