Young Company Intake Workshops

This September Buxton Opera House & Pavilion Arts Centre is looking for talented actors to join its Young Company in order to work on a brand new show specific to Buxton. The theatre is calling out to all 13 to 18 year olds who have an interest in performing arts to be part of this exciting new production.

Buxton Opera House’s Young Company has enjoyed great successes with collaborations including working with the National Theatre as part of the annual Connections Festival and some young company members have performed in the chorus of English Touring Opera’s professional productions. Most recently they won acclaim from the audience with their performance of The Addams Family. Based at the Pavilion Arts Centre, Young Company offers children state of the art facilities for rehearsal space and performances. All productions are creatively produced by the professional team that stage shows at Buxton Opera House.

Those children that are interested in joining are invited to take part in an open intake workshop on Monday 5 September from 5pm. Budding actors should download and complete the application form from Buxton Opera House’s website (http://buxtonoperahouse.org.uk/yc-acting) and arrive for the 5pm workshop on the day.

The Young Company is also looking for performers to join its production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Children aged between 5 and 12 can apply to join the Mini and Young Performers groups. There are no requirements to attend an intake workshop for these groups. Simply complete the application form and if there is space children will be automatically accepted.
