Star Trust Announces Next Round of Grant Support

Leading East Midlands charity, Star Trust, is now accepting bids from East Midlands charities to support the life-changing work they do in local communities.

Star Trust is run by local business owners and entrepreneurs and supports good causes in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Rutland.

Since its launch ten years ago, Star Trust has supported 106 charities with a total of £798,763k and directly touched the lives of over 56,000 people in the East Midlands area.

Timms Solicitors Further Invest In Young Talent

Timms Solicitors have promoted Family Law paralegal, Leah Pilling who will take up a contract as a trainee solicitor on 4th September 2023.

With 91 per cent of UK 11-year-olds owning their own smart phone, the start of the new academic year is a time when millions of UK families will be giving children their first mobile device.

Young people going up to secondary education will very often be boarding a school bus for the first time, and parents often see this as a time when they should have their own phone.

New volunteering team lead at Safe and Sound

 

Derbyshire’s specialist child exploitation charity, Safe and Sound, has appointed a new team lead to support and grow the organisation’s growing group of volunteers.

Rach Bricknell joins Safe and Sound from a children’s charity where she both volunteered her time and worked on fundraising and events having previously set up her own candle making business and worked in a variety of accounting, business administration and retail roles.

Derbyshire children’s happy holiday faces inspire legal firm in £2,500 donation to much-loved charity

A LAW firm office manager based in the heart of Derby was so touched by seeing joyful children returning from holiday that she nominated the charity that provides their seaside trips to receive a donation from her firm’s charity fund.

East Midlands law firm Rotheras Solicitors LLP, whose Derby office is based on Amen Alley next to Derby Cathedral, has made a donation of £2,500 to the Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre.

Safe and Sound Appointed To Progress Family-Focused Programme

Specialist child exploitation charity Safe and Sound has been appointed to deliver a special programme that aims to strengthen family relationships and reduce the number of young people going into local authority care in Derby City.

The charity has worked closely with Derby City Council to deliver a pilot Family Group Conference programme in the city which is the first in the Midlands and was part of a competitive tendering process to determine its future delivery.

CALL FOR ARTISTS TO JOIN BONSALL ARTS TRAIL 2024

Artists across Derbyshire and surrounding areas are invited to apply to join the Bonsall Arts Trail which will take place on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June 2024.

Hundreds of visitors are expected to attend the weekend-long trail which will be housed in large marquees and in the homes of Bonsall residents.

The event will build on the success of the 2022 trail which showcased the work of around 90 artists including painters, sculptors, printmakers and many other creative works.

BONSALL ARTS TRAIL

GREAT NEWS—We are going forward with the Bonsall Art Trail following on from the success of the 2022 trail. The trail was very successful, and we had tremendous feedback from artists, hosts and our many visitors. Following a reconvening of our committee and team, a decision was made to continue with the Bonsall Art Trail biannually, the next trail being over the weekend of 29th & 30th June 2024.  We hope you will come on the journey with us again.
