Two Weeks to Go Until BIF21!
With just under two weeks to go until the 2021 Buxton International Festival, rehearsals are in full swing and we're preparing our venues ready to welcome you to Buxton for another summer of opera, music and books.
Half of our events have limited availability with some sell out performances so although we understand that many festival-goers reserve seats when they arrive, we do recommend booking ahead this year.
In response to audience demand, the Box Office has also reduced some of the block sizes in our venues to create more socially-distanced single and double seats. If the seating configuration you're looking for isn't showing on the booking website, please call the Box Office on 01298 72190 and they should be able to help.
This year, we will be hosting a series of nature-orientated book events at the Festival.
Hear author and farmer James Rebanks discuss his best-selling book, English Pastoral, which has been recently shortlisted for the 2021 Orwell Prize, with Julian Glover, journalist and Chair of the Government’s review into our protected landscapes. The talk will take place on 13 July, 12pm.
Isabel Hardman will be talking about the health benefits of spending time in the natural world and sharing extracts from her book, The Natural Health Service, on 18 July, 4pm.
Acclaimed writer and naturalist Mark Cocker will be leading a series of debates and discussions about nature with Guy Shrubsole, Nick Hayes, Mary Colwell and Richard Fortey. Get a taste of what's in store in our latest blog post, written by John Phillips.

BIF Digital Festival
This year, you'll be able to experience the 2021 Festival from the comfort of your own home for the very first time.
The BIF Digital Festival channel will allow you to view recordings of live events via a variety of devices. There will be an opportunity to purchase either a full package of 12 events for £40, or buy individual events from 3 August. These will then be available to view as many times as you wish until 3 October 2021.
Events include Acis and Galatea, Roderick Williams and Susie Allan, the Fitzwilliam Quartet, Richard Dawkins and Margaret Macmillan.
We'll publish details on the website and in the e-newsletter at the end of the Festival and look forward to sharing these special moments with you.
