Timms Solicitors Conference Supports Local Charity

Leading law firm Timms Solicitors have presented a £1,000 cheque to Derby Child Contact Centre following its annual Care conference for fellow professionals.

Timms is recognised as a leading Family Law firm with a Care team working across its offices in Derby, Burton-upon-Trent, Swadlincote and Ashby.

The firm organised its fourth annual conference recently in Derby which was attended by more than 90 delegates from across the East Midlands.

This year’s focus was on consent and issues relating to vulnerable people and children within the Family Court process.  Guest speakers included Jessica Eaton from Victim Focus; consultant clinical and forensic psychologist Dr Harry Wood, barrister Anne Williams and District Judge Parker.

Timms Managing Partner Fiona Moffat presented the donation from the event to Amanda Paige of Derby Child Contact Centre.

The city-based organisation is one of the largest entirely voluntary-supported contact centres in the country where non-resident parents or grandparents and their children can meet, play and interact.

Fiona explained: “The conferences are designed to share key topical knowledge across the profession, giving advice and understanding to help everyone in their day to day jobs.

“Timms always donate £1,000 to a charity as part of this event and we were delighted to support Derby Child Contact Centre who have a very important role to play in the Care system.”
