STRATEGIC DIRECTOR – FIRST ART

First Art is for those who think “art” isn’t for them. Our vision is to inspire communities
within the former coalfields of NE Derbyshire and NE Nottinghamshire to experience and get
involved in the arts as both audiences and participants. The project, based at Creswell Crags
on the Derbys/Notts border, is a partnership of five cultural and community organisations
working together as part of the Arts Council’s Creative People and Places programme. Now
starting a new second phase, we’re looking to appoint a creative and entrepreneurial
Strategic Director to be responsible for achieving First Art’s strategic objectives and
providing strong, inspirational and high-profile leadership to the project.
This full-time post is based at Creswell Crags but will involve working with partners across
the First Art region.
