"Reflecting Fridas " by Ana Maria Lines

On Friday the 1st of March, at 7.15pm in the Imperial Rooms, Imperial Road, Matlock, DE4 3NL

In anticipation of International Womens Day on the 8th March we bring you 'Reflecting Fridas'. The life and work of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo are the inspiration for the show created and performed by Brazilian storyteller Ana Maria Lines. Frida's soul echos in many of us. Frida's diversities, love, injuries, suffering were the subject for her work An unique life , an exceptional woman.

As if putting brush strokes on a canvas, Ana Lines paints the colourful and dramatic life of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo with all it's highlights and shadows .An invitation, like Frida's self portraits, through a doorway into her home, life, heart and soul.

As if that weren't enough, we shall also have a host of stories from our very own Home Grown tellers Phil Coogan and Debs Page. It's a packed programme and not to be missed.

Matlock Storytelling Cafe is a unique night out in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales. The candlelit tables foster a warm welcoming atmosphere. Soup, hot drinks and great cakes are available and you can bring your own booze, it is Friday night after all. Doors open at 6.45pm be sitting comfortably by 7.30pm and we'll begin, tickets are just £7
