QUAD Practitioner Wellbeing Course: A Course About Work, Wellbeing And Self Care For Artists!

Made up of five full-day workshops, this programme will offer a safe, supportive space for artists to reflect on their practice, to discuss, learn, create and be inspired together. Building on our skills and experience in supporting others, we will focus on how we support ourselves and nurture our wellbeing.

We will consider the process of creativity and address the foundations of delivering participation sessions with a minimum of stress. We will discuss mental health, neurodiversity, accessibility and LGBTQ+, as well as other topics you will bring to the sessions. Artists will have the opportunity to learn more about dementia and become a ‘Dementia Friend’, part of a national awareness project.

As practitioners, we rarely make time to nourish our own creativity, so each day of the course concludes with a creative session. This will offer an opportunity to relax and enjoy a workshop delivered by an experienced artist, then reflect on the experience.

By the end of the course, artists will have a personal plan for continued practice in which we hope they will feel more supported, less stressed, less isolated and have an improved sense of wellbeing.

After the course, there will be an option to attend 6 further monthly follow-on peer-support sessions for continued reflection and discussion. More details to be announced at the first session of the course.
