A new Derbyshire Tartan is soon to be revealed

Derbyshire based company, Tweeds with Style, have designed a tartan to celebrate Made In Derbyshire in 2015.

The colours were chosen to represent the countryside, moors and industrial heritage of the Derbyshire area and the first hand-woven piece of tartan has now been produced.

A local weaver in Belper who hand weaves and hand dyes yarns has produced the hand-woven piece. He is also weaving a 'sample' scarf piece for the Company to show to give people an idea of what the finished cloth will look like that will be produced by a mill.

Fiona and Leslie are due to be interviewed by Aleena Naylor from BBC Radio Derby, for broadcast on Aleena’s show on 17 July.

The 'Derbyshire' tartan is a district tartan registered with the Scottish Tartan Register.
