Popular award-winning Derbyshire farm shop Croots has expanded its services to offer a picturesque wedding reception venue at its countryside site just outside Duffield.

The farm shop has teamed up with events specialist and tipi hire company Tipi and Kata to host regular wedding receptions.

Starting from April 2019 and running through to October 2019, the venue will provide beautifully decorated tipis, bar facilities and home-made food prepared on site - all set against a stunning backdrop overlooking the Ecclesbourne Valley.

It will be able to cater for up to 140 guests – providing a unique rural wedding reception with a magical atmosphere.

“We are delighted that Croots Country Weddings has teamed up with Tipi and Kata to offer a new wedding reception venue in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside,” said Kay Croot, who runs the farm shop at Farnah House Farm, Wirksworth Road, with husband Steve.

“We have staged numerous events at Croots Farm Shop since we opened more than ten years ago, with super feedback, so we are very pleased to now be launching our new partnership with Tipi and Kata and look forward to providing newlyweds with a truly memorable day.

“Steve and I had our own wedding reception in a marquee at the farm in September 1990, and over the years we have hosted a number of weddings in the fields around the farm. This partnership with Tipi and Kata means that we can offer superbly decorated tipis with an enchanting atmosphere, alongside a wonderful range of food and drink, and all the other items that really make the big day for couples.”

Chesterfield-based Tipi and Kata is one of the UK's most experienced outdoor weddings and events companies, supplying tipis for hundreds of weddings and events since being launched in 2012.

Around 40 couples attended a recent open weekend at Croots Farm Shop to take a closer look at what the venue offers.

The packages include hire of tipis that are fully furnished with tables, chairs, dance floor, chill-out area, fire pit, bar, chandeliers and fairy lights, home-made food from a range of menus, luxury toilets, power and a number of optional extras, all designed to make the special day memorable.

Steve Barnes, from Tipi and Kata said: “We have a huge love and passion for creating amazing and beautiful weddings and events, and are very excited to be launching a new partnership with Croots Farm Shop – an award-winning farm shop set in a stunning location just outside Derby.

“As fellow Derbyshire-based businesses, we are delighted to be joining forces to offer a unique new venue in the county, and in such a beautiful part of the UK, for couples to celebrate their special day.”
