MOONSTRUCK!

Buxton-based composer Paul Cromford is flying audiences to the Moon for the town's Festival Fringe … not once but four times. His new show, 'The Ancient Pull', described as a 'Moonstruck song-cycle', will be performed at the Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton on 15th, 17th, 21stand 23rdJuly, 8:00 to 10:00 pm.

I was always fascinated by America's race to the Moon in the 1960s”, he says, “and who doesn't enjoy seeing the Moon when she's out?”

Cromford's lively and thought-provoking show will explore every aspect of our relationship with the Moon, from superstition to space race, and he says this year's Fringe is the perfect occasion for the debut performances:

The coincidences were too good to ignore,” he continues: “this is the 40th Buxton Festival Fringe, it's the 50th anniversary of the first Moon-landing … and I turned 60 this year! So it's a triple celebration.”

Tickets for the shows are £10.00 (concessions £9.00, children £5.00) and are available from Buxton Opera House (www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk) or by e-mailing CaroleMordauntTodd@gmail.com.
