Local Lady Wins Prize Draw Bonus

A Derbyshire pensioner has won £300 of vouchers to spend in shops in Derby’s Cathedral Quarter after entering a prize draw.

The Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District (BID), which was recently crowned the best city centre in the country at the Great British High Street awards, produced a leaflet showcasing the variety of entertainment and events taking place in the area and invited people to enter a prize draw for vouchers to spend in shops of their choice.

Marjorie Allsop from Ripley, did just that and won vouchers which she has opted to spend at Bennetts in Iron Gate and nearby Emily Brigden fashion boutique.

Mrs Allsop said: “There are some lovely shops in the Cathedral Quarter but I chose Bennetts because there is everything you could possibly want and I particularly like their cookware.

“Emily Brigden has such good quality clothes so I’m really looking forward to shopping there and treating myself.”

Mrs Allsop was presented with her vouchers by Simon Ingham, managing director of Bennetts and Lesley Heldreich, manageress at Emily Brigden.

Mr Ingham said: “We are delighted that Marjorie has chosen to spend her vouchers here at Bennetts.  We have a huge range of quality products – many of which cannot be found elsewhere – and I hope that she enjoys whatever she chooses to spend her prize on.”

Mrs Heldreich added: “This is an exciting time for our company with a re-launched website and a growing social media presence and we look forward to welcoming Marjorie back so that we can make sure she finds just what she is looking for.”
