Local Business Expansion Stays In The Family

A Long Eaton business has continued its expansion plans by bringing a third member of the founder’s family into the fold.

Liam Hobbs (45) set up More Then Loft Ladders in 2013 and now has a 12-strong team based in Meadow Lane. His daughter Louise is already responsible for customer service and now wife Kelly has joined to handle all aspects of business administration. Mrs Hobbs (41) has many years’ experience in administration and customer service for a Blue Chip company. Having been given the all-clear earlier this year following treatment for a brain tumour, she decided to join the family business to help her husband achieve ambitious growth plans.

Mr Hobbs explained: “I have been nagging Kelly to join the business for ages now as her skills and experience will be vital in this exciting next chapter for the business. We have a growing order book in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and South Yorkshire and are actively recruiting for more installation technicians with a view to potentially expanding our geographical reach. As any small business knows, ensuring that the ‘back office’ processes and procedures are rock solid is key to continued success. I always wanted to build the business with the family to maintain the ethos that we are all one big team – sharing the ethos that we will do the best job every time for our customers.

Mrs Hobbs added: “I have always been extremely proud of what Liam and the team have achieved over the years and am really looking forward to helping More Than Loft Ladders expand further in the future. I was always confident that I would be given the all-clear in March but it has given us all the security to move forwards now both as a family and a business and we are excited about the future.

More than Loft Ladders, operates across Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield areas as part of a national franchise network and won a regional award earlier this year in recognition of its excellent customer service and feedback for its work to install hatches, part or full loft boarding insultation, lighting and smoke alarms to transform dark and forgotten lofts into usable space.

In recognition of the support provided to the family by The Brain Tumour Charity, the company is donating £1 for every order completed to the charity in 2021.
