Launch of Invest in Derbyshire

An exciting next step in the development of the Invest in Derbyshire service, delivered by Marketing Derby on behalf of Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Economic Partnership, was taken last week as a new brand, website and film were launched.

Investors, businesses and key partners attended a launch event in support of the county’s ambition to be a destination of choice for investors and businesses.

As the inward investment promotion agency for Derby and Derbyshire, Marketing Derby raises the profile of the county and provides a bespoke service to investors and business looking to locate here.

John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, said “Derbyshire has a rich history and proven record of successful inward investment. The film and website will help us, and partners, promote the county as a great place in which to invest, live, work and play. We are delighted that some of our Bondholders have helped with this next step in the service offered.”

The creative talents of Bondholders Alt Design (brand and website), Averill Photography (imagery), Purpose Media (film) and Code Print (event collateral) are all showcased.

Invest in Derbyshire is a partnership between Derbyshire Economic Partnership, Destination Chesterfield and Marketing Derby on behalf of Derbyshire County Council and, at the event, delegates heard from speakers including Leader of Derbyshire County Council Councillor, Barry Lewis, talking about the Council’s commitment to unlocking growth and promoting investment.

Councillor Lewis said “Derbyshire has so much to offer investors at both a national and global level. Its unique position at the heart of the UK together with excellent transport links and quality of life make our county an attractive place for businesses to locate invest, live, work and stay.”

Chairman of the Derbyshire Enterprise Partnership, Richard Horsley added “With its rich heritage of innovation and a broad range of development opportunities, Derbyshire has one of the strongest economic performances in the country and I am proud to launch the new service today.”

Also at the launch event, Managing Director of Bondholder Toyota Europe, Tony Walker, highlighted why Toyota invested in Derbyshire and continues to grow its business here today. Sally Ambrose from the Chatsworth Estate talked about the estate’s impact on the local economy and how, as a key Derbyshire landowner, it will drive future opportunities to promote development in Derbyshire. Delegates also heard from Peter Storey, of Markham Vale, explaining why the enterprise zone at J29A of the M1 has been so successful at attracting inward investment to date.
