Keeping you up to date with the news from Cromford Mills

The Heritage Lottery Fund has supported us in our bid to make Cromford Mills more resilient in our plans for the future.  As our part toward this award the Arkwright Society is now fundraising for a new marquee suitable for events and hiring out.

Events Programme Out

Our 2019 Events and Welcome brochure is available both online and to pick up round and about the locality.

Cotton Reel Road Challenge

Help us to raise the roof on a new Marquee! We are thrilled to have secured valuable support funding from Heritage Lottery Fund towards the next phase of work at Cromford Mills, but as our match contribution towards this, we have to fundraise to replace our old & creaky marquee. It has provided valiant service, but now even the bunting and fairy lights will not keep the rain out, and we need to hold bigger and better events in the Mill Yard to continue the regeneration of this wonderful World Heritage Site.

On Friday 17th & Saturday 18th May 2019, an intrepid team from Cromford Mills will be cycling from Richard Arkwright’s birthplace in Preston to his ground breaking factory here at Cromford Mills; a total of 83 miles. Support us here

Membership Offer

Our aim is to have a membership scheme that enables us to engage positively with people about the story of Cromford Mills and the work of the Arkwright Society; creating supporters who will champion the future restoration and preservation of our sites.
It also needs to provide a valuable income which not only covers the operational cost of the membership scheme but also enables us to move forward with our work here.
As well as improving the benefits we offer to our SILVER and GOLD members we are endeavouring to attract new, younger members by offering a free STUDENT membership package.

Fundraising Cotton Spool Selfie!

Next time you visit the Mill, why not immortalize your self on a Cotton Spool Selfie. As part of our fundraising for the new Marquee we are giving people the opportunity to draw a selfie and fly it over the yard! If you can't get into the Mill this summer and want to help us keep our events running whatever the weather chucks at us -  you can donate online here.
