HE Students Gain Bake Off Inspiration For Research Work

Land-based Higher Education students at Derby College Group (DCG) has gained inspiration from popular television programme ‘The Great British Bake Off’ for key elements of their research work.

Students on the Animal Management and Equine Science degree programmes, who are based at Broomfield Hall, have created particularly outstanding creations to illustrate key aspects of their work and photographs are currently being circulated on social media channels such as @derbycollege on Twitter to find the winner.

Team Manager Stacey Higgs said: “We have found all sorts of innovative ways to work during the pandemic – both in College and on virtual platforms – and thought that the Great Research Bake Off would be a fun way of incorporating research with baking skills.

“The results are stunning and everyone has really engaged with this project.”
