Great British Bake Off contestant’s book available at Croots Farm Shop in Derbyshire

Copies of Great British Bake Off contestant Val Stones’ first book have gone on sale exclusively in Derbyshire at Croots Farm Shop near Duffield.

The shop, off Wirksworth Road, is run by Val’s brother Steve Croot and his wife Kay – and Val is a regular visitor.

Val Stones The Cake Whisperer! features 52 recipes to bake with love and follows an appearance on the popular TV programme by Val in 2016. She quickly became a favourite on the show….and was known for her practice of listening to her cakes and bakes to check when they were ready, as well as her kitchen aerobics.

Steve said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that Val’s recipe book is now available and delighted to have it on sale in Croots Farm Shop.”

Val, a retired head teacher who lives in Somerset, has held baking workshops at Croots Farm Shop and advised on the shop’s homemade bakes.

She has become a social media sensation since appearing on Great British Bake Off, with thousands of followers on Instagram and Twitter, and has recently published her first book, Val Stones The Cake Whisperer! which is priced at £12.95.

Croots Farm Shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm (Shires Eatery until 4.30pm) and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays. Croots runs Fresh Fish Thursdays between 9am and 1pm on Thursdays.
