FORMAT21 Online has been visited by over ten thousand people from all over the world. If you haven't had a chance yet to drop in to our virtual festival you still have time, just click the link above to enter the information centre.

What's On:

Virtual Easter Egg Hunt, 2nd - 5th April

Join us for a virtual Easter Egg Hunt. Enter FORMAT21 Online and find the hidden Easter Eggs and collect the clues for your chance to win a special prize.

Sixteen 3D Easter Eggs will be hidden in a selection of FORMAT21 exhibition rooms. Click on the eggs to reveal the clue. Once you think you have found all of the Easter Eggs, combine your clues to reveal a secret code.

When you think you have all the clues, email us at info@formatfestival.com with your secret code in the subject line and name(s). Everyone who finds the correct code will be entered into a prize draw.

 

Famous Internet Sites: Curatorial Tour, 2nd April 12.00 - 1.00pm

Join QUAD/ FORMAT curators Peter Bonnell and Laura O’ Leary and artist Zou Jingyao for a tour of the exhibition Famous Internet Sites, an exhibition that focuses on places suddenly made famous by the internet.
By using Macron-colored installations, mirrors, and balloons combined with VR, projections and other new media tools, the exhibitions creates a fantasy world consisting of sound, light and electricity.

The Preserving Machine: Curatorial Tour, 6th April 6.00pm - 7.00pm

Join Tom Milnes and other guest artists from the exhibition as they lead a tour of FORMAT21 exhibition,The Preserving Machine.

The Preserving Machine is a research group focusing on emergent computational, three-dimensional imagery through practice- based and theoretical research.

Unperson Portraits: Artist Tour, 7th April 11.00am - 12.30pm

FORMAT21 artist Tim Franco will present his new book Unperson, Stories from North Korean Defectors and take visitors around his exhibition.

Franco will discuss how he approached making this project. How to document a country that is completely sealed off from the rest of the world? How to portray North Korean defectors without putting them in danger? How to implement a conceptual photographic process to tell a story ?
