Derby's Cathedral Quarter will have a festival feel on Saturday July 21 when a number of artists take to the stage ahead of their appearances at summer festivals across the Midlands.

The free music extravaganza CQ Saturdays Knickerbocker Glorious has been organised by the Cathedral Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) with a number of acts performing in the Market Place between 11am and 3pm.

Musicians performing at CQ Saturdays Knickerbocker Glorious include Jodie Rose who is heavily influenced by country, rock and pop music.

Barney Rubblz, who will perform at the Y not Festival for the first time this summer, are an energetic indie rock band made up of three brothers.  Also appearing in the Cathedral Quarter and at Y Not is Emzae Music who has been spotted and featured by BBC Introducing.

Timothy Hoad, who can be seen at Northern Green Gathering, is a new age folk singer songwriter whose haunting tone is influenced largely by Enya.

Jimmy Eff was a hit at the Bearded Theory Spring Gathering in May and is influenced by bands in his teenage years - the mid 90s - including Oasis and Blur as well as recent artists such as Will Varley.

Finally, Michael Vickers from Leicester whose style combines indie, rock and folk and whose talent for storytelling brings a humorous and touching view on life.

The afternoon will finish with all the artists returning on stage for a joint song - inviting the audience to join in.
