Festival fan Amber is ready to go as leading lights join star cast

Preparations for this year’s Repton Literary Festival are well under way with one of the event’s biggest fans joining the team.  Local graduate Amber Wood (22) is one of a host of volunteers working to make this year’s event an even greater success.

In 2018, the first Repton Literary Festival was created and enjoyed by many. In October 2019, it's back - bigger and better, inspiring a new generation of writers and bringing engaging speakers to this wonderful village.

Says Amber, who lives in Newton Solney:

“This is the first time I have been involved in this kind of event and the team spirit is fantastic.  Even though I will be working hard on the bookstall I hope to find time to attend some of the exciting lectures and events during the three days of the festival.  The programme really does offer something for everyone of all ages.”

With many more artists and performances and even more historic venues this year, the 300-seater theatre will host performances from some celebrated actors and writers, including the world-famous actor David Bradley (Game of Thrones!) and Nick Burns (Nathan Barley)

Set in the heart of the village, 'Repton Litfest' offers a rich and varied programme of literature, art, music, poetry and other activities for all to enjoy.

There’s food and drink, workshops, and children's events to keep the whole family entertained.

The Festival offers talks and events in Repton School locations not usually open to the public and there will also be informal guided tours of this historic place of learning, where its stories will be narrated by an expert historian.

The Festival will run from 2pm on Friday 25th October until 2pm on Sunday 27th October
