Family Fun at CQ Saturdays Handcrafted at the Cathedral Quarter

There will be a real family feel to the monthly CQ Saturdays Handcrafted at the Cathedral Quarter on Saturday June 20 with a host of workshops and children’s activities alongside a wide range of artisan stalls.

The fayre and workshops will be held in the Market Place and under the Guildhall Arches between 10am and 4pm - bringing together the best of local and handmade products including artwork, food, carpentry, textile and jewellery created by artisans from across the Midlands.

There will be a drop in session for children to make tutus (£3.50 to join); free creative writing and publishing workshops at nearby QUAD and a Hama bead workshop for children up to the age of 12.

Face painting stalls add to the fun and a number of ‘characters’ will be interacting with visitors to the area including the infamous pirate Captain Dan and the mysterious Mermaid who will invite visitors to take a ‘shell-fie’ with her!

Stallholders at the event will include jewellery from Eightfourteen; Sam Ryde Metal Studio and Vintage Skull; delicious edible treats from The Little Cream Cakery and Derby-based chocolatier Cocoa Tabby; fine art and illustration designs from Cow Close Mill and Jemma Banks Design along with other gifts and homewares from Petal Felt, Delight In The Little Things, Tallboy's Woodworking and Rachael Lawton Contemporary Ceramics.

Meanwhile live entertainment will be the order of the day with CQ Saturdays Knickerbocker Glorious incorporated into the day-long Furthest From the Sea FFTS15 festival in the city centre.
